…. across the isle from me sits a family. A mother and father close to my age and a 2-3 year-old girl and a 3-5 month-old boy. This 3-5 month old little baby sitting in his mother lap is observing and taking in everything that’s going on around him. Millions and millions of neurons transferring information in that small but very powerful little brain of his. And for a few moments, he locks eyes with me. Neurons still firing off, but I can tell that he is very curious to know what I’m doing….. Maybe one day he’ll know that I was writing to you…
As I think about you, and who you could be….
I wonder how you’re navigating through life right now. The challenges you’re facing. How you’re overcoming them. How difficult they are. Who are the people at your job that you like, and who are the ones you feel need a lot more Jesus in their life? I also imagine how I’ll go about asking your father for your hand in marriage given these worldly circumstances…
- Do you live alone?
- Are you lonely?
- Assuming you longer live with your parents since most of our peers this age do not, I just want to know why and what you think about 1 Corinthians 11:2–16.
- Then there’s my least favorite alternative. If you’re with an “ole boy” right now, how is he guiding you? Or where is he leading you?
All this thinking of you has made me realize what I’ll actually be attracted to the most as it pertains to all the elements and aspects about you that draw me to you.
Yes, it will be your soul.

I really wish you were here sitting in this empty seat next to me. Usually every time I’m on a flight, I wish this were the case. To look at you. To listen to you. Converse with me for the duration of a flight would be ideal. Having you tell me about anything and everything you want to, would be a great way for me to begin to see and feel this soul of yours. So some small talk and Instagram posts could never tell me anything about this soul of yours…
When they say opposites attract, they are not just talking about the physical realm. As a wise person, you should only let this human nature guide you in the physical realm and not the spiritual. Yes our souls won’t be exactly a like at first, but they definitely won’t be opposites either.
Once again, as humans, we are attracted to things that are rare and different because they stand out from the everyday and ordinary. They catch our eye. It doesn’t mean we necessarily like it, but we are curious about it. Just like I’m curious about this soul of yours...
Now…once I actually get to know this souls of yours, it will become a great deal to me. It will be my best friend. It will be the main thing I resort to when my flesh gets upset with you. I will be a voice of reason. it will be my this and it will definitely be my that. It will be a lot and mean a lot to me.
And yes, it will be the most attractive soul I’ll ever know….
